BEYAĞAÇ, located in Denizli Province, is surrounded by Acıpayam, Çameli, Kale, Tavas, Köyceğiz districts and Muğla province.

Beyağaç has been a settlement area since ancient times, with its land structure suitable for agriculture and animal husbandry. Beyağaç, which was organized as a municipality on June 6, 1972, became a district on 20.05.1990. It was separated from Kale district on 05.08.1991 and started operating as a de facto district.

Beyağaç District has a surface area of ​​437 km2. 91% of the total land is forest land, 8% is agricultural land, and non-agricultural residential areas are 1% of the total land. Beyağaç District economy is based on agriculture and animal husbandry.

"Taurus nomadic culture", which can also be called "Yörük culture", stands out in Beyağaç and its surroundings. Lifestyle, customs and traditions support this view. Beyağaç and its surroundings are a transition zone both culturally and geographically. Eren's Day events specific to Yoruk-Turkmen Culture have been held by the local people for about 7 centuries around Kartal Lake in the region close to the summit of Sandıras Mountain and Çiçekbaba.

In the district, 1275 families are engaged in farming and 800 families are engaged in small and cattle breeding. The most important source of income is tobacco production. Wheat, barley, corn and watermelon are grown in addition to tobacco, although very little.

The most important geographical, cultural, natural and touristic values ​​of Beyağaç;
Topuklu Plateau; It is famous for its majestic trees around it, its air, and its cold and quality drinking water resources. It is 20 km away from the town center and 30 km away from Muğla Köyceğiz town centre. Its figure is approximately 1700 m. This plateau, which is 20 hectares wide, is used as a camping and caravan area. There are 12 bungalows, a covered dining unit, a children's playground, a country coffee house, toilets and showers, fountains and a large amount of tent areas. In the past 4 years, Tübitak organized nature camps here. Between 28 June and 3 July 2022, Prof. Dr. 'Sandras Sky Observation Activities' were organized by Ethem Derman and his team, hosted by Beyağaç Municipality, in cooperation with Kalabey Local Action Group Association and Beyağaç Women's Enterprise, Production and Business Cooperative. According to scientific measurements, it has been determined that Topuklu Plateau is one of the rarest plateaus of our country where sky observations can be made in the best way. In this regard, by applying to the Dark Sky Association, headquartered in America, and declaring Topuklu Plateau as an international dark sky park, initiatives have been initiated to make Beyağaç a national and international astro tourism center.

Eagle Lake ;
Kartal Lake and its surroundings have been declared a protected area by the Ministry of Forestry, General Directorate of National Parks and Wild Animal Conservation, and a First Degree Natural and Archaeological Protected Area by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Izmir Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation Board No. II.
Turkey's oldest black pine forest is here. The area around Kartal Lake and the "Monumental Forest" is very rich in terms of plant flora. The formation of pure stands of black pine in the area shows the characteristics of a rare forest ecosystem, among which there are "monumental trees" between the ages of 250 and 1300.
Flora and Fauna of Kartal Lake environment: Approximately 750 taxa are recorded in its flora. 68 of these are rare throughout the country. Rare plants include approximately 21 taxa that are indigenous only to the region, with a few exceptions.

Çicekbaba Summit; It is located at the peak of Kartal Lake. According to some, this Summit is the home of saints and saints, and according to some, it is the place where a cure is given to troubles and healing is given to the sick; According to some, it is the place where the gods watch over the surroundings. Eren's Day events specific to Yoruk-Turkmen Culture have been held by the local people around Kartal Lake in the region close to Çiçekbaba Summit for about 7 centuries. The most concrete one is the study and research area, which foreign scientists cannot leave due to its unique and rich plant presence.

Eşenler Pond; It is a beautiful natural area surrounded by pine forests, very suitable for daily picnic areas and tent camping.

Black Lake; It is located in the north of the "Gökçay" valley, between the "Çiçekbaba" and "Armıtcık" peaks, on an area of ​​15 hectares. It is 16 km away from the town, its altitude is 1334 meters and it has a very beautiful and mysterious appearance. There are old larch trees around it.

Boyalı Creek:  It is an interesting valley where the trees named after it form a forest, and black pine trees and dye trees compete to reach the sky. It is fed by snow water flowing from Kartal Lake and spring water coming out of the valley, and is known for its cold water.

Gökçay: It is a remarkable piece of nature with its partial canyons formed by the combination of the waters of Ilıca stream and Boyalı stream.

Doğançay: It is a natural valley where even the road has not entered yet. It is the natural habitat of mountain goats. Sandalwood trees have a special value.
